ODE to Life…
Reverse poetry is a poem that can be read forward (top to bottom) and have one meaning but can also be read backward (bottom to top) and have a different or opposite meaning. The structure of the reverse poem is often the same.
ODE:

One Life on Earth
in the year 2026
on a solitary path
clothed in dust,
ripped denim
worn by time,
torn by life,
black, tight danskin
jaded with sweat,
rugged, fragile Frye boots,
limp from the trail
she wonders,
she pauses,
it rains,
a single teardrop,
with curiousity
alone
The depths of her soul
now harken
to the past,
to the present,
to the future
In a hurried pace
How am I doing?
she asks
the universe
open and closed
doors and windows
her life
her purpose
her mission
In silence
How did I do?
Mercy
she exclaims,
Can I do better?
Is there more time?
she asks,
the universe
alone
yet connected
consciously
she beckons
tell me,
help me,
show me
knowledge
cosmic consciousness
doors, windows
open, closed
Harken
warm yet fleeting
so much to learn
so much to learn
toward wisdom
she runs
to embrace
the steps,
closed
windows
open
doors
to receive
moments
life itself
love
with grace
the gifts
questions
unanswered
its a bridge
she hears
its a bridge
take your time
One Life on Earth in 2026.
How am I doing?
Can I do better?
Wishing you love, happiness and all that hippie shit.
It is good to have an edge. Love, Brooklyn
